This enables the new Microsoft Skype for Business for Mac client to communicate together with Lync 2013. Microsoft Lync Basic 2013 gives you instant messaging (IM), audio and video calls, online meetings, availability (presence) information, and sharing capabilities all from one, easy-to-use program. It’s a slimmer version of the full Lync 2013 client and provides the same core functionality. At the Microsoft download center, choose Download to download the Lync for Mac 2011 update program onto your Mac. The lync14.dmg file is downloaded onto your computer. This is the Lync for Mac 11 update. This article indicates where to download the Microsoft Lync 2013 client. Rights on your organization in the Control Panel to be able to download the setup file. How to Note: There is no Lync 2013 version for Mac. Lync 2013 is available only for Windows. Download, Microsoft, Lync, 2013, client, version, Windows, Mac. Install Lync for Mac 2011 - Skype for Business for Mac will be available in 2016. Until then, Lync for Mac 2011 is included with Office 365 and available for you to download and install. Macintosh Operating Systems
Lync 2013 is available only for Windows. However, Lync Server 2013 supports the following clients on computers that are running Mac OS 10.5.8 or latest service pack or release (Intel-based) operating systems (Mac OS 10.9 operating system is not currently supported). Using Mandatory Profiles
Lync Web App
If users are planning to use Lync 2013 conferencing features, they should not use Active Directory Domain Services mandatory profiles to sign in to the Lync 2013 client. Because mandatory profiles are read-only user profiles, the public key infrastructure (PKI) keys that are required for Lync 2013 conferencing cannot be saved to the profile.
